The Wellness Center

The Carlisle operates a Wellness Center which is staffed by a licensed nurse and other certified health personnel to promote and prolong your health, well-being, and independence. Staff at the Wellness Center will assist you with the following services:

obtaining access to outside health services and coordinating your health care;
furnishing vital sign testing at your request (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, weight, and respiration);
conducting an annual assessment of your functioning capabilities;
observing regularly for changes in your health status;
providing you with health information and assisting you in obtaining it independently;
monitoring a twenty-four (24) hour emergency response system installed in your condominium bedrooms and bathrooms at The Carlisle and providing a pendant or wristband to residents who request it for summoning assistance in emergencies that occur on The Carlisle's premises.

Physician Care

At the Carlisle you can maintain your long-term relationship with your personal physician, subject of course to any limitations in Medicare, any Medicare HMO in which you are enrolled, or any other plan by which you are covered. If you are new to San Francisco or require a physician in any specialty, The Carlisle's health services staff will assist you in finding an appropriate practitioner.

Assisted Living Care

To give you peace of mind …..if you should ever need temporary or long-term assisted living services at The Carlisle, you can receive such quality care services right within the privacy of your own condominium. You will not have to move out of your own home! For example, if you are recovering from hip surgery and you are ready to come home, we can adapt your condominium, if needed, to provide the assistance you need for full recovery back to independence.

The reason we are able to provide such quality assistance in addition to our extensive Wellness Program for preventive health care is because The Carlisle is licensed to provide assisted living services. Such assistance includes the following activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility, and storing and taking medications.

In the event that you desire to receive additional assisted living services in your condominium beyond those provided by The Carlisle's health services staff, you may receive such services from an outside provider of your choice. Of course, The Carlisle will screen any outside provider to ensure that they meet the strict standards of The Carlisle, and shall be subject to its initial and continuing approval. In accordance with the requirements of its license, The Carlisle is responsible for monitoring all outside care providers.

Therefore, whether you might need a couple hours of health care help temporarily or 24-hour assistance on a more permanent basis by an outside care provider, you will receive the finest in assisted living services here at The Carlisle------all within the privacy of your own condominium.
